1 Month - 3 Great Events!

Golf Event and Installation of New Officers Understanding the New CPCU Program Iowa Insurance of Fame

Wednesday May 22  1:00 Golf Benefit (shot gun start) for Farm Safety for Just Kids  5:00 Social Hour  6:00 Dinner & Chapter Meeting with Officer Installation @ Willow Creek Golf Course

See details below!

As you  may be aware, there have been recent changes in the curriculum to obtain the CPCU designation. Highlights of the changes which will be effective in 2003 are:

1. You may concentrate on either personal or commercial insurance.

2.  Greater emphasis will be placed on the convergence of property-casualty insurance and other financial services.

3. You need only pass eight rather than ten national courses and examinations.

In an effort to shed further light on these changes and how they may affect you, the Iowa Chapter, CPCU Society has made arrangements for Sandy Masters, CPCU, AIS, CPIW, Director, Midwestern Region, American Institute for CPCU/Insurance Institute of America to discuss the new program and answer your questions during an afternoon seminar at 3:00 p.m. on May 23rd.

The seminar will be held at Holmes Murphy & Associates, 300 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. So that we can plan for the number of attendees, if you would like to attend this seminar please call Khrissy Zepeda at Ahrold Fay & Company at (515) 288-2101 or e-mail her at kzepeda@ahroldfay.com

Sincerely,
John Ahrold, CPCU  Chair, Candidate Development Committee,  Iowa Chapter, CPCU Society

CPCU Annual Golf Outing

May 22, 2002

Willow Creek Golf Course

Benefit for Farm Safety 4 Just Kids

For the third year, proceeds from the annual golf outing will be donated to Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, in conjunction with the efforts of our CPCU Good Works committee. Farm Safety 4 Just Kids is a very special program that seeks to prevent farm related childhood injuries and fatalities, by providing education about the importance of farm safety.

The golf outing will be a Best Ball tournament, and is open to CPCU’s, those testing for CPCU as well as other insurance folks. Shotgun start will be at 1:00.

Here’s an opportunity to show your support for a good cause and have a great time. Whether you’re an accomplished golf pro or have never hit a golf ball before, we’re looking for everyone to get involved.

Companies can sponsor a hole or a special event, such as closest to the pin. We’d also appreciate donations of any company golf prizes that can be used for door prizes.

To register for golf, and/or to sponsor a hole, contact Jeff Jeffus at 471-3879, or e-mail him at Ajeffus@onebeacon.com. The $55 fee includes 18 holes, a cart, an invitation to the Social hour to follow golf at 5:00, and a donation to Farm Safety 4 Just Kids.

Please note there is a separate registration for the May 22 CPCU dinner meeting and installation of officers. These reservations go to Nancy Green.
